Jorin McSween is a proud Man-of-WORTH and Catering Manager at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. As a directionless teen, Jorin complained to his high school guidance counsellor that he didn’t know what he wanted to do with his life, only that he wanted to work “somewhere pretty with good food with people to talk to”. That counsellor recommended a Hospitality & Event Planning program at UFV.
The brilliant instructor of this program, Nancy Barker, became an incredible mentor and motivator for Jorin and is one of the many Women of WORTH who have influenced and inspired Jorin with their commitment to being heard, being brave, and being a part of something larger than themselves.
Jorin is an avid party game and trivia enthusiast. One of Jorin’s favourite pieces of trivia is that the creator of Wonder Woman was also the inventor of the polygraph lie detector test. Meaning that they created a real-life lasso of truth AND gave one to his iconic feminist character.
