Judith Kasiama

 Founder of Colour the Trails

Judith Kasiama is the founder of Colour the Trails, an organization based in Vancouver, BC, with outreach in Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec. The initiative advocates for inclusive representation in outdoor spaces by collaborating with brand partners, businesses, and organizations to break down barriers and enhance accessibility.

Through subsidized outdoor adventures, the creation of diverse content, and fostering partnerships with allies, Colour the Trails is driving meaningful change in the recreation industry. As a passionate adventurer and traveler, Judith shares her experiences as a Black woman who skis, hikes, camps, climbs, and explores. A former refugee from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Judith was raised across South Africa, Australia, the United States, and Canada, a journey that gives her a rich perspective drawn from diverse cultures and experiences.

Judith’s active engagement in outdoor activities underscores the importance of representation and challenges the narrative that people of color are not active participants in nature. With grace and open dialogue, she works to spotlight underrepresented communities and foster greater inclusion.

Judith is a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society and firmly believes that nature belongs to everyone.
